ASGC Presidents Salver - 2011

                    Philip Goode Great Barr G.C.
             ASGC President 2011 - 2012

The ASGC Annual Presidents Day for 2011 took place at Aston Wood Golf Club on Monday 10th October. Presiding over events was the Association President Mr Bill Evans.

The Association were visiting Aston Wood for the first time and the members were very pleased with the course and the hospitality shown. Those starting their rounds on the first tee were welcomed by the Aston Wood President.  A wonderful gesture from our newest member club.

On a very windy, though dry and mostly sunny day, the members coped  well with the conditions and some very creditable scores were recorded. No less than 15 players carded 2s on the tricky par 3 holes, and 13 scores of 36 stableford points or more were recorded.

The Presidents Trophy 2011 was won by Bill Perry of Great Barr Golf Club with 41 points. Bill edged out Rod Greenfield of Branston only on the better back 6.

Division one winner was Mike Cleaver of Uttoxeter GC (39) points, Division two Rod Greenfield (41) and Chris Bulman of Brocton GC took Division 3 with 39 points including 26 points on the back nine.
