Strokeplay Championship

Nick Copestick of Trentham Golf Club wins Staffordshire Senior?s Strokeplay Championship

Nick Copestick a headmaster, had a fine round of 72 at Whittington Heath Golf Club to collect the coveted Strokeplay trophy. Nick who is the current Staffordshire Senior?s captain thrived in the very hot conditions to finish just ahead of the County President Andrew Dathan of the host club who fired an impressive gross 74. Glen McBryde finished third with a 77.

The best net score went to Keith Gorman of Drayton Park golf club, Keith who was in the final group recorded a very good net 66 to win by three shots from Hugh Rudder and Vic Dainty

Congratulations to Phil Simmonds, Stuart Belcher and David Pepper who won the best gross for their age groups. The best net age group winners were Adam Charlampowitz, Geof Tart and Gordon Harris.

Our thanks go to Whittington heath Golf Club for hosting the event. The course was in superb condition with difficult pin placements and as usual, Whittingtons catering and hospitality was excellent
