The 1^st League match of 2011 was against Shropshire & Herefordshire at Barlaston Golf Club with the weather cast fair and sunny.

There were second team debuts for Simon Bright, Jack Gaunt and Ben Russell who had forced their way in to the team after some good individual performances in the month of May.

The foursomes were won 3.5 to 1.5 by Staffordshire with wins for Kevin Beattie & Brian Belcher, Ben Russell & Jack Gaunt and Simon Bright & Ben Barwell. A hard fought half was earned by Captain Elect John Haynes & Martin Crook to give Staffs a good morning.

The singles was a much closer affair with the weather turning rather damp in the afternoon but wins for Simon Bright, John Haynes, Martin Crook, Ben Russell, Jack Gaunt and a hard fought half point from Captain Kevin Beattie tipped things in Staffordshire?s favour.

Congratulations to Simon Bright, Ben Russell and Jack Gaunt who all took maximum points on debut.
