MIDLAND REGION PAST PRESIDENTS AT TRENTHAM

Past Presidents at Trentham Golf Club

The Past Presidents of the Midland Golf Unions held their inaugural Spring meeting at Trentham Golf Club on Wednesday 4^th May 2011.

Fourteen Presidents from the 10 Midland Counties spent a most enjoyable day on an immaculately presented course, whilst renewing old friendships, playing golf and then sitting down to an excellent three course meal.

The main business of the day was an 18 hole stableford competition off full handicap.  The winner with an excellent 39 stableford points was Andrew Dathan the current President of Staffordshire who was invited as the President of the host county.

The best score by a Past President was 36 points by Peter Adams of Worcestershire and Stan Yeomans of Nottinghamshire.  Peter Adams was declared the trophy winner on count back.

Robert Taylor of Leicestershire won the nearest-the-pin competition on the 12^th hole as the result of an excellent tee shot.

Jim Dean (Warwickshire) Immediate Past President of the Midland Golf Union presented the prizes to the winners.

Following the success of the day it is proposed to repeat the spring day out in 2012 at a different location in the Midland Region.
