Staffs Vs Northamptonshire 2010

Staffordshire emerged victorious by 11-7 against old rivals Northamptonshire in the final match of the season. It was a fitting end to Captain Terry Henwood's [Walsall GC] final match as Staffordshire Captain; he enjoyed two very successful years of leading the team. We all owe a great gratitude to Terry who has put in a huge amount of time and effort into creating a well run, successful and popular seniors team. He now hands over to new Captain Nic Copestick [Trentham GC].
The match was hosted by Aston Wood Golf Club, the course was, as always, in superb condition and it proved to be a very stern?test of golf in the difficult wet and windy conditions. After the morning greensomes the teams were level but the Staffordshire team got their act together in the afternoon better balls to finish comfortable victors by 11-7
