MIDLAND AMATEUR 2010

The Midland Amateur was played over two days at Oxley Park G.C. and South Staffordshire G.C. on Friday and Saturday 20th and 21st August.

Two qualifying rounds were played on the Friday with 18 holes on each of the two courses; the final two rounds being played at South Staffs on the Saturday.

Staffordshire were represented by eleven players of whom seven qualified for the final two rounds.

The Champion for the second year running is Andy Sullivan of Nuneaton G.C. with a gross score of 286.

Best placed Staffordshire players were Richard Prophet (Sandwell Park) and Sam Benton (S.Staffs) sharing fourth place with 288; closely followed in 10th place by Freddie Sheridan Mills (Walsall) with 292.

These scores were accumulated during some heavy rainstorms and the players are to be congratulated on their performance.
