Staffs Vs Warwickshire 2010

Staffordshire seniors entertained their great rivals Warwickshire in a close fought match at Penn Golf Club, one of Staffordshires oldest clubs. Unfortunately the weather did not match the superb golf course with most of the day being wet and miserable. Warwickshire took the morning honours and established a 4 to 2 lead; No doubt as a result of a serious talking to by Captain Terry Henwood, the afternoon saw a spirited fightback from Staffordshire with honours even giving an overall win to Warwickshire by 10 to 8. Terry was delighted with his teams fightback and he was especially pleased to welcome the debuts made by new men Tony Wright [the owner of Craythorne G.C] and Joey Jones of Gt Barr.GC. Both players scored valauble points for the county.
