Staffordshire v Cheshire 2010

The Captain reports

Having missed the first match this was my first game in charge and I picked a team consisting of youth and experience.
The morning foursomes were a close affair with Staffordshire going down 2.1/2 to 3.1/2. Wins for what promises to be good pairings of Richard Prophet and Joe Bland 4/3 , Alan Kinvig and Tony Cheese 2/1.
In the last match myself and Paul Griffiths were 2 up with 2 to play in good shape on the green 15ft away the opposition through the back in thick rough 20 yards from the flag game over... well now I have seen it all, they chip in for a 3 which was like a knife through the heart!

In the afternoon the rain came for a good couple of hours making the conditions difficult. The singles finished 6-6 which meant we went down 8.1/2 to 9.1/2; a very good team effort. Some special mentions must go to double point winners Richard Prophet, Joe Bland and Alan Kinvig, also good single wins, from high up the order, by Neil Wain and James Fox.
