Staffs Vs Cheshire 2010

Staffordshire Seniors visited their great rivals Cheshire on ?Monday 10 May. After their great victory on home ground last year Captain Terry Henwood was hoping for another great performance but alas, it was not to be.

The Staffordshire seniors came down to earth with a bump when Cheshire fielded a very strong team which boasted no fewer than 4 internationals.

The match was hosted by Gorstyhill golf cub near to Crewe, although only five years old the course was in superb condition and the greens immaculate. After the morning foursomes and determined to avenge last year?s defeat, Cheshire raced to a 6-0 lead. Staffordshire fared little better in the afternoon better balls and their only winners were Sandy Fraser [S. Staffs and Trevor Bennett [Gt Barr]. Cheshire eventually winning by 15-3
