Annual General Meeting at Brocton Hall



The 2010/2011 President Andrew Dathan receives his badge of Office from the retiring President.

The Annual General Meeting

President Professor David Thomas chaired the meeting which had an attendance of 42 people representing 22 Clubs.

The President, in his address, thanked all those who had made his two years in office so enjoyable and wished his successor, Andrew Dathan of Whittington Heath an equally enjoyable and successful term of office.

The Accounts
The Accounts for 2009 and the budget for 2010 were presented to the meeting by Jeremy Duffy, Treasurer of the Union.  These accounts were adopted by the meeting without dissent.

The County Card Scheme
The County Card Secretary, Barry Whitaker, explained the background to the scheme and stated that there were 21 Staffordshire clubs in the scheme in 2009 and that so far this year another nine clubs had expressed a wish to join.

Election of Officers
The Elected Directors and the Treasurer were re-elected unopposed.  Other appointments were:

County Golf Partnership
During the meeting the EGU/EWGA Regional Development Officer, Sharon Heeley, made an excellent presentation of the County Golf Partnership, explaining what monies were available to help Clubs in the County to increase membership through the 'Whole Sport Plan'  for golf .  The County have formed a County Partnership with the Staffordshire Ladies and the PGA, a necessary first step to draw down funding.

The next Annual General Meeting will be held at Brocton Hall on Monday 7th February, 2011.
