Sad Loss of a Great Servant of English Golf

The President and Members of the English Golf Union the Midland Golf Union and the Staffordshire Union joined the family of Fraser Kyle and the Members of Stone Golf Club in a farewell to their much loved and admired husband, father and friend at the Stafford Crematorium on Monday 21st December, 2009.

A Servant of the Club
After joining Stone Golf Club in 1991 he was elected Captain five years later, subsequently acting as House Chairman and Handicaps and Match Secretary, before being elected President of the Club.

An Accomplished Golfer
For years a single figure golfer;  his name is recorded on several honours boards at the Club, he represented Staffordshire and the Midland Counties at Senior Level.  As recently as November he played for the Midlands at Trevose in the Inter-regional Foursomes Tournament.  Celebrating his sixty fifth birthday on the first day of the competition.

Knowing the Rules
As a member of the Stone G.C. Rules Quiz Team he went to the National Finals at St. Andrews on five occasions, winning twice.
As a direct result of becoming a 'walking rule book' he was invited to join the English Golf Union Tournament Panel as a referee.  He helped out with Men's and Ladies Tournaments at County level, with the English Schools Golf Association and with the Midland Golf Union with whom he was due to take over as Championship Chairman in the coming year.

A quote from the Secretary of Stone G.C.
"Stone Golf Club will not be the same without him, but neither would it be the place it is today without the great contribution he has made to it's development."

Colleagues and friends join in offering their sympathy to Fraser's family in their sad loss.
