MIDLAND CLOSED AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP

The Nothampton Golf Club hosted the championship on Saturday 9th May, 2009.

Fifty-nine players took part in the 36 hole scratch tournament.

The overall winner, by 6 strokes, was Andy Sullivan of Nuneaton G.C.  Andy, playing off a handicap of +3 shot rounds of 70 & 68 for a total of 138.

Joint second was, Staffordshires own, Joe Bland (scratch) with rounds of 74 & 70 - total 144.

Mark Chamberlain of Aston Wood G.C. and Mark Gayes of Cavendish G.C. were 11th and 12th respectively.  Colin Heard of Stone G.C. collected the reward for best pm score.

Altogether eleven players from  Staffordshire clubs took part.
