County Team v County Boys

The 1st Team played its full squad against the County Juniors at Uttoxeter Golf Club on what turned out to be a lovely Spring day.
The two captains, Brian Belcher and Gian Romano shook hands before the matches started. Jarred McKnight against Gian Romano and Ben Barwell against Freddie Sheridan-Mills took to the 1st tee to get the twelve matches under way.
All the matches where played out very competitively with the juniors giving some of the 1st Team players plenty to think about during their games.
The final score: County 1st Team 10 - County Juniors 2. Liam Smith for the juniors beat Andy Ellis 2up and also Josh Picard overcame James Willis by 1 hole.
Brian Belcher beat Lewis Pearce by 1 hole after a really close match in which Lewis never gave up on any shot, making some great recoveries around the greens.
Dean Porter beat Will Johnson 2/1 again in a close match.
In all, I hope both Teams can go on to represent Staffordshire with some confidence for this forthcoming season.
