Sunday October 4th, 2009.1st Team, Walsall G.C.
2nd Team, Radcliffe-on-Trent G.C.
First Team Captains Report
Foursomes
Disappointingly, Staffordshire only got one point in the morning's play, which was obtained by Dave Walley and Neil Wain winning their match 2 & 1.
Staffordshire 1: Nottinghamshire 4
Singles
With Andy Ellis and Neil Wain both losing by 1 hole, Staffordshire only managed to gain one point out of the first three matches. Dave Walley won his match 2 & 1, as did Jarred McKnight and John Whitehouse. Paul Griffiths and Brian Belcher both halved their matches. This wasn't enough to stop the Nottinghamshire team from finding some late season form.
Final score
Staffordshire 5 Nottinghamshire 10
I would like to thank all the players, officials and everyone who has taken the time to support the 1st Team during my two years as Captain. It has been a great honour and privilege. I would like to wish Dean Porter all the best for his Captaincy.

Second Team Captain's Report
The Final 2nd Team match of 2009 was away against
Notts at the Radcliffe-on-Trent Golf Club where I was hoping to field a
relatively young side to include the recent Staffs Match play Champion, Freddie
Sheridan Mills who withdrew late due to having a golf lesson.
The side did include David Law and Lee Wain along with
James Willis, Ben Barwell, Chris Bradshaw, Chris Crane and Joe Bartello who
whilst still being youngsters they have been present in the side for the
majority of the season.
The foursomes resulted in a whitewash for Nottinghamshire 6 - 0 with three of the matches being resolved on the 18th and
the other three being comfortable victories.
In the afternoon singles it was not the same story
with at one point Staffs being down in all but two of the matches, this was
turned around and ended in a 5.5 - 6.5 win for Nott?s with again several of the
matches going down to 18th.
