Foursomes 

The second friendly Staffs v Cheshire match got under way at Trentham Golf Club, in what turned out to be a close contest. The first match; Ian Curly and Chris Hutcheon won 2&1. Dean Porter and John Whitehouse had a very close match but lost on the last.  Neil Wain and James Fox won 2&1 and Andy Guy and Andy Ellis won with a birdie on the last.

Singles 

After the foursomes, the match was all to play for.  Good wins from Neil Wain 2up.  Chris Hutcheon playing his first match won 2&1.  Andy Ellis halved his and James Fox birdied the last to halve his match.  John Whitehouse also won 2&1.  Dean Porter had a great win after being 4 down after 8 holes to go on and win 3&2.  With the last four matches out and Staffordshire 2 points ahead, Brian Belcher and Freddie Sheridan-Mills both lost leaving Andy Guy and Kevin Beattie to try and turn their matches around, but it wasn?t to be.  A good match for Sam Benton and Freddie Sheridan-Mills gaining experience against quality players.

All the players would like to thank Trentham Golf Club for allowing the County to host Cheshire on a well turned-out course.
